Father's Day Target Practice . . .

The rain almost had us canceling our outdoor target practice over the Father's Day weekend.  It was a little soggy but everyone managed to get a few rounds off.

Church Camp 2016 . . .

This is the 4th year in a row our church has had a three night camp out at Bryce Creek up in the Sumas hills.
This is the first year we have camped all three nights and fully participated in the camp out.

We drove up Thursday evening.  For the next three days we enjoyed friends, fellowship, the outdoors and wonderful breakfast made for the whole camp every morning,   This filled the kids up so much that I hardly even saw the Scientist again until hunger gripped him around 2pm.  There were organzied games, crafts and relay races.  Older kids went on a canoe trip to nearby Silver Lake.

One of the epic activities for the kids takes place on Saturday afternoon.
The soapy slip and slide.  It not only offers tons of fun but it also washes off a lot a dirt from kids that have played hard for two days.
Blossom would only try it out once all the other kids had tired out and left to get dry.

Thankfully big brother stuck around to play and show her how to slide.

The park was a favorite place for kids of all ages.

Church camp is a ton of fun but I think the age range that benefits from it the most is 7-12.  There is so much space and freedom to roam and play.  I know the Scientist will remember this church camp forever.

Spokane Trip 2016 . . .

I post pictures like these so that they'll be printed in the blog books I have made up each year.  For our 3 night stay in Spokane we stayed at the KOA.  A very clean and well maintained campground for staying in the city.

These pedal bikes were fun but very tiring!

We arrived on a Friday and the wedding was on a Sunday so we went to the river walk on Saturday.  The huge Radio Flyer wagon is an icon we have to see each time we are in Spokane.

We also had to visit the carousel.

Grammy and Wayne were there too!

And we had to eat!  We always have to eat!

RV and trailer camping is pretty comfortable.  I'm seriously never going back to tent camping.
This is our trailer living room and bedroom.

This is part of Grammy and Wayne's kitchen/dinning room.

The weather was surprisingly cool and it rained a bit.
But the wedding was great and the boys learned a lot about traditions at weddings.  Yes, I'm counting the wedding as a lesson in culture and traditions.  We are homeschoolers aren't we!

I've been waiting for this wedding for a long time.  I'm so glad we could be there.  It was beautiful.
