The fourth of July this summer was spent on Grammy and Wayne's sailboat at Sucia Island. The trip was planned on the spur of the moment and it was a success! We weren't sure if 8 people could sleep on a boat that sleeps 6 comfortably. We brought along a tent and sleeping bags in case we felt it would be best to have Josh on shore with a boy or two. But that wasn't needed and all 8 sleeping on the boat worked pretty well. Mom and I rocked the feeding of the 8 person crew. BBQ chicken sandwiches one night and steak and corn on the cob the next. Scrambled egg burritos for breakfast was a hit and no mess because I scrambled the eggs at home.
Spending time on the beach is a highlight of any sailing trip.
Probably more so on this one because we were 8 people on a boat.
We took a little walk on the second day.
This little guy spent some time with us the morning we were getting ready to leave. He was very vocal. We didn't feed him or touch him. I tried not to think about him loosing his mama.
Motoring out of the bay we let Blossom walk the gig line.
She likes adventure as long as she feels safe.
The trip home had rough water. We only spent a few minutes on the bow of the boat.
My tummy doesn't like rough waters.
I'm so glad the family was able to have this
summer adventure. Thank you Grammy and Wayne.
