June Week in Review . . .

First, let me say that I'm totally bummed that no one commented on the cute little rock feet I made in my last post.  Come on!  Those were cute!
Now, what we've been up too...
In preparation for summer break, I grabbed an idea from Family Fun Magazine and made a summer calendar of activities we have planned, those we want to go and do plus, plenty of space left to add as we go.
Now the boys can see we do have a lot of special activities planned and they can offer suggestions to add as well.

The boys spent an afternoon trying to rig up a pulley system they thought they would be able to play on.  Lots of trying and ruling different options out which is bringing them closer to what they do need to make it work.  They would love to have a zip line some day.  The property did have one once, 15-20 years ago.  We found the remnants in the woods down in the gully.

At the beginning of this week we had Cub Scout Cross-over.  Our Bear became a Webelos I and our little guy became a Tiger.  This was such an exciting day for us.  He was excited, we were excited, it was a day full of energy!
Getting ready for the Cross-over.

Now that I've gone all the way through den leader of Cubs and I'm back to starting at the beginning again with a Tiger it feels like this should be a piece of cake.  Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy as the boys would say.

Dinner Out...

We took to the trail and to the beach for dinner on Wednesday.  It was a simple dinner of sandwiches, carrots and cookies.  We had the trail and beach all to ourselves which was the real treat.

The boys were boys and Josh and I watched as they stormed the beach and took over a fort.  It was a very well made structure as forts go.

This beach is full of beautiful stones.  I just had to make something I had seen a couple weeks ago.

I had no problem finding enough perfect rocks to makes these.

Everyone should sleep well tonight.

Book finds . . .

These are most of my finds from the Whatcom Homeschool Recycle sale from last weekend.    I love good deals on books.  It makes me happy.
