Today, June 14, 2011 is Flag Day.
Our little school of 3 boys and one mom decided to have a parade around our loop (about 50 homes) to commemorate the day. We had 3 flags and one poster of the flag with the Pledge of Allegiance on it.
All the flags were different size so there was plenty of "discussion" on who would carry which flag. On our short walk we stopped 4 times. Once, to greet a neighbor and give them a flag sticker. Once, to take care of an uncomfortable roller blade. Once, to argue about who was going to carry which flag the rest of the way and again to greet some fellow young homeschoolers who rushed outside and asked us to tell them about flag day. The last stop made up for what was starting to feel like a total disaster. I have no pictures so I'm posting one from 2 years ago of my mom.
Happy Flag Day! I hope you are flying your flag today.
