Great Wolf 2012 . . .

We had some fun at the Great Wolf last week.  It was more crowded than we expected but I'm not sure that place ever sees a real lull in guests.  I didn't get any pictures of the boys in the water because we took all those pictures in 2011 here.  Not much changed except the boys liked the wave pool much more this time and the place is seeing some wear and tear.
The little guy wanted to spend all his time in the wave pool and he never seemed to get tired.  The water was a foot above his head but he rarely held onto Josh or I.  His thing (which was so unsettling to watch) was to go underwater every time a wave would swell up around us.  EVERYONE else jumps up and rises with the wave.  But not the Scientist, he dives down under the water.  It's minute after minute of him looking like he's drowning.  But he just bobs back up and takes a breath and bobs back down, time after time.  It reminded me of Navy Seal water training where their arms and legs are bound and they jump into water above their heads and all they can do to survive is sink to the bottom, push off and bob to the surface to take a breath, over and over and over again.  Oh! How it gives me the creeps.
We let the boys do the MagiQuest game this time.  As if we weren't tired enough, the 10 "adventures" in this game took us up and down five flights of stairs and around the lodge more times than I can count.  More stairs were climbed than I want to mention.
 Listen to the clue.
 Watch the video.
Off to search some more.
They flew through the quests pretty fast and by the morning of our check out they only had one left and then to defeat the dragon.
The wand lights up the crystals and lets them know they are ready to fight the dragon.
But first we have to wait in line for 30 minutes for our turn.
The Architect is chosen for the fight.
And the dragon is defeated!
Now we can head home in the pouring rain.
Josh is a great driver but I'm glad I had knitting to keep me busy and distracted from looking at this view of the road.

    1. Ha, yes, I imagine it would be hard to visualize their telling of the story.

  2. I'm cracking up at how we're flipping our adventures... we were at GWL a few weeks ago and the next trip is to see King Tut! Glad you had such a great time (in spite of the drive home)!
